Orville Riffe 

1926-2003 

Orville Lewis Riffe, 77, of Grayson, passed away Saturday, Dec. 27, at his residence. 

He was born April 30, 1926, in Carter County, the son of the late James Lewis and Jessie Mae Medley Riffe. 

His wife, Ida Mae Sturgill Riffe, preceded him in death in 1994. 

Mr. Riffe was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran, a retired Kentucky Department of Transportation employee and was of the Baptist faith. 

He is survived by two daughters, Sandra Johnson of Grayson and Rita Buck of Evansville, Ind.; one son, Chris Riffe of Whitesburg; one brother, Carl "Red" Riffe of Grayson; three granddaughters, Angela Buck Scarlett, and Cassity and Corissa Riffe; two grandsons, Spencer Johnson and Colton Riffe; and one great-grandson, Sevren Scarlett. 

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Nelms and Nelson Riffe. 

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Dec. 31, at 11 a.m. at the Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson with Charles Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Grayson Memorial Park. 

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, at the funeral home.
