Kentucky GenWeb projectMuril Griffitts - 1912-2007 Muril Renfroe Griffitts, 95, of Ashland, Ky., went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, May 2, 2007, at the home of her daughter with her family at her side. Mrs. Griffitts was born April 18, 1912, in Carter County, Ky., a daughter of the late John William and Missouri Bledsoe Renfroe. She was employed by King’s Daughters Medical Center for 13 years in the food service and housekeeping departments. She was of the Baptist faith and a dedicated member of Oak Street Chapel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Griffitts, in 1958; a daughter, Missouri Mae Rankin; a son, Charles Henderson Griffitts; two great-grandchildren, Emma Adkins in 2001 and Kayla Griffitts in 1992; eight brothers, Samuel Renfroe, Jesse Renfroe, Charles Renfroe, her twin brother, Earl Renfroe, Joseph Renfroe, Troy Renfroe, William Renfroe and George Renfroe; and two sisters, Lennie Elizabeth Stone and Bertha Jane Phillips. Survivors include a son, James Harvey Griffitts of Boyd County; three daughters, Geneva Marcum of Ashland and Jean Marcum and Irene Ritchie, both of Westwood, Ky.; 28 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 5, at Caniff Funeral Home in Westwood by Pastor Johnsey Collins and Thorney Artrip, minister. Burial will be in Dixon Cemetery in Westwood. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today and an hour before services Saturday at the funeral home.
