Roy B. Phillips 

1925 - 2007 

Roy B. Phillips, 82, Grayson, Ky. passed away Thursday, September 20,at his residence on Smith Branch. 


He was born January 17, 1925, in Carter County, Ky., a son of the late Walter Phillips and Janie Logan Phillips. 

He was the husband of the late Virginia (Jean) Barker Phillips - for 60 years. 


He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U. S. Navy. He retired, with 47 years service, from Grahn Brick Yard, and was a farmer. 

He was a member of Kiser Branch Old Regular Baptist Church. 

He is survived by his daughter, Sue Utley, and, his son, Owen (Sherry) Phillips, both of Grayson; his brother, Walter Clinton Phillips, of Grayson; 
two nephews, Robert and Jack Leadingham, whom he and Jean raised as their own; his two grandchildren, Rodney (Christina) Utley and Ronda (Nick) Wilburn; 
two great-grand children, David Utley and Wesley Wilburn. 


In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Randy Gene Utley, four brothers, Virgil, James, Frank and Louie; 
and, four sisters, Margie, Myrtle, Virgie and Ithel. 


Services for Mr. Phillips will be Sunday, September 23, at 2:00 pm, at Sparks Funeral Home, in Grayson. Lewis Davis, David Sturgill 
and Burl Sturgill will officiate. 


Military Services will be conducted by American Legion Post 138 - Olive Hill, at Biggs Hill Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest. 


Friends may call after 6:00 pm, Saturday, September 22, at the funeral home.
