Clara Edith Johnson Portsmouth Times (Portsmouth, Ohio) Saturday, May 20, 2000 Clara Edith Pennington Johnson, 93, of Avon Fla., a former resident of Grayson, Ky, died Sunday, May 14, 2000, in Sebring, Fla. She was born Jan. 8, 1907, in Carter County, Ky., a daughter of the late Ed and Nancy Leadingham Pennington. She was a homemaker and of the United Baptist faith. She was preceded by her husband Dewey Johnson; one son David Johnson; two brothers Ennis and Sanford Pennington; two sisters Louise Johnson and Margaret Blevins. Surviving are one daughter, Virginia Van House of Avon; one brother, Peter E. Pennington of Grayson; one sister Nellie Craig of Berlin, Md; and several nephews and nieces. Services will be held at 2 p.m. at Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson, Ky, with Russell Griffith minister, officiating, and interment in Pennington Family Cemetery.
