Elmo Owens

MANSFIELD -- Elmo Owens, 67, died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2006, at home. 

Born Nov. 23, 1938, in Olive Hill, Ky., he was the son of Everett Owens and Rosa Humphries Brinegar. He retired from Dana Corporation as a machinist. 
 
Mr. Owens was of the Baptist faith. 

Surviving are his wife, Helen Owens; two daughters and son-in-law, Garnetta Diehm, and Patricia and Jerry Middleton, all of Mansfield; eight grandchildren, Felecia, Ashley, and Seth Burriss, Sara, Alyssa, and Faith West, Brandon and Logan Middleton; aunt, Tina Fannin of Olive Hill; uncle, Junior Humphries of Olive Hill; stepmother, Katie Owens of Mansfield; brothers, Donald and Lodena Erwin of Indiana, Lawerence and Jewel Brinegar of Greenup, Ky., Larry "Pete" and Sandy Brinegar of Greenup, Edward "Eddie" Brinegar of North Carolina, Walter "Eugene" and Barb Brinegar of Olive Hill, Chris Owens of Galion, and Gary and Susan Brinegar of Greenup; sisters, Mary Lou Sullivan of Grayson, Ky., Janet and Lawerence Sullivan of Grayson, Linda, and Joe Perry of Mansfield, and Kathy Roberts of Mansfield. 
He was preceded in death by his parents; numerous aunts and uncles; grandparents, Ella and John Humphries, and Charlie and Daisy Owens; sister, Wilma Jean Brinegar; and brother, Bobby Lee Owens. 

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, 2006, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors. Friends may also call 4 to 9 p.m. Friday at Oney-Henderson Funeral Home in Olive Hill, Ky., where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 26, conducted by the Rev. Terry Dean. Burial will follow in Fultz Cemetery.
