Walter E. “Pop” Mills, 82, of Grayson , KY , went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, October 30th, 2007 in Carter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center .

He was born September 2nd, 1925 at Ashland , KY , a son of the late Jesse and Alma Cain Mills.

He was a member of Local Carpenter’s Union and attended the Reedville Christian Baptist Church . He was the Proprietor of Mills Construction 
and was formerly employed with Johnson’s Dairy and Lake Stop Shop and Ma & Pa’s Booth at the Carter County Flea Market.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Don Mills and 2 sisters, Margaret Reason and Nancy Sargent.

His survivors include: 

His wife, Madgie Sammons Kretzer Mills of Grayson;

1 daughter, Regina Mills of Ashland, KY;

3 sons, Walter “Butch” (and Margerette) Mills Jr. and Phillip “Pete” (and Teresa) Mills all of Ashland , KYand Roger Mills of Cynthiana , KY ;

2 step-sons, James D. (and Sharon) Kretzer of Grayson and Donald E. (and Cherie) Kretzer of Ottawa , Kansas ;

1 step-daughter, Cathy (and Bart) Layne of Grayson;

2 sisters, Mae (and James) Holbrook of Lexington, KY and Virginia Ross of Orlando , FL ; 

13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conduced Saturday, November 3rd, 2007 at 11:00am at Malone Funeral Home with Bryan Whitt and Don Flannery, ministers.

Burial will be in the East Carter County Memory Gardens . Visitation will be held Friday evening, November 2nd, from 6:00 to 9:00pm and 
Saturday after 9:00am until service time at the funeral home.
