Mabel Maggard 

1915-2004 

Mabel McDavid Maggard, 89, of Grayson, passed on Friday, May 14, 2004, in Carter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Grayson. 

Ms. Maggard was born Jan. 5, 1915, at Little Fork in Carter County, a daughter of the late Albert and Sarah Holbrook McDavid. 

Mabel worked in manufacturing in Mansfield, Ohio. She assumed various occupations in Phoenix, Ariz., and Grayson. 

Mabel was a member of the Dixie Freewill Baptist Church. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Geraldine and Steve Stamper; a brother, Tracey McDavid; and a sister, Irene Evans. 

Surviving are a granddaughter and her husband, Jeannie and Rob Harper; a grandson, Brett Stamper; an honorary granddaughter, Lesley Fryer; a great-granddaughter, Chandra Harper; and many nieces and nephews. 

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson at 11 a.m. Monday, May 17, 2004, by the Rev. Tim Hall. Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Grayson. 

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. today and after 8:30 a.m. Monday
