Kentucky GenWeb projectOBIT - Mae Cora Mason Damron, 84, of Hitchins, passed away on Thursday, March 24, at King's Daughters' Medical Center in Ashland. Mrs. Damron was born December 28, 1920 at Isonville, a daughter of the late Jesse J. and Amy Lester Mason. She was a homemaker and attended the Hitchins Freewill Baptist Church. Mrs. Damron was preceded in death by her husband, Jay C. Damron; two infants and one grandson, Nicky Skaggs. She is survived by: two sons, J.D. Damron and wife Karen of Hitchins and Johnny Damron of Hitchins; two daughters, Geraldine Kelley and husband Charles of Grayson, and Wanda Skaggs of Hitchins, seven grandchildren: Connie Lane, Greg Damron, Kim Callihan, Jeff Damron, Erica Parsons, Shawn Kelley and Eric Skaggs; 13 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Stoney Mason of West Liberty, Lloyd Mason of South Webster, OH and Boyd Mason of Sandy Hook; two sisters, Ivy Kelley of Martha, and Hazel Rigsby of Wooten, OH. Funeral services were conducted Monday, March 28, 2005 at 1 p.m. at the Malone Funeral Home with Ron Arnett, minister. Burial will be in the East Carter County Memory Gardens.
