Pauline M. Carnes 

WEIRTON - Pauline M. Carnes, age 83, of Weirton, formerly of New Cumberland, died Friday, July 15, 2005, at home. 

She was born in Olive Hill, Kentucky on March 19, 1922, the daughter of the late Homer B. and Gladys (Hensley) Martin, Sr. 

She attended Wells High School of Newell; was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during World War II; was a member of the Chester American Legion Post 121; 
member of the Kings Creek Union Chapel; former member of the Rhodadendron Rebeccas Lodge; and was a former employee of the Hancock County Senior Center 
and the Hancock County Court House. She was retired with the State of West Virginia as a Law Librarian. 

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Frederick Carnes; a son, Paul Dennis Carnes; two brothers, Winford Martin 
and Bennie Martin and her faithful dog "Bucky." 

She is survived by a son, James B. Carnes and wife Lisa, of New Windsor, Maryland; a daughter, Brenda E. Carnes of Weirton; 
a daughter-in-law, Donna Carnes of Weirton; six grandchildren, Olivia, Hannah, James, Kellen, Quinn and Brogan; a brother, Homer "Junior" Martin of Newell;
 and two sisters, Peggy Keys and husband Dick of Zanesville and Carol Martin of Weirton. 

Friends will be received Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the New Cumberland Chapel of the Nixon Funeral Home, 900 Ridge Ave., New Cumberland. 
Services will be held there on Tuesday at 11 a.m. 

Interment will follow at New Cumberland Cemetery where the Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will accord Military Honors.
