Kentucky GenWeb projectWayne Lowe - 1921-2007 Wayne Lowe, 86, of Flatwoods, Ky., died Nov. 18, 2007, at his residence. Mr. Lowe was born June 13, 1921, in Grahn, Ky., a son of the late William C. Lowe and Emma Stevens Lowe Colegrove. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Cathy Johnson Hillyer; brothers Earl Lowe, Glenn Lowe and Alvy Wilson; and sisters Ida Lou Lowe Blevins, Wilma Lowe Hoffman and Thelma Wilson. He was a Christian by faith. He served in World War II in the U.S. Army Air Force, was a member of the American Railway Supervisors Association Lodge 441 and American Legion Post 276 of South Shore, Ky., and was a Kentucky colonel. Surviving are his wife, Ruby Dillow Lowe of Flatwoods; a son, David Wayne Lowe (Jerri) of Raceland, Ky.; two stepsons, Eddie Adkins of Lexington, Ky., and Tom Adkins of Cincinnati; and a daughter, Vicki Johnson (Ron) of Raceland. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods by the Rev. James Daniels. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A military service will be conducted by American Legion Post 276 of South Shore.
