Kentucky GenWeb projectLeona Miller 1914-2004 Leona Knipp Miller, 89, of Grayson, Ky., passed away on Monday, April 19, at Friendship House, where she resided. Mrs. Miller was born in Carter County, the daughter of the late Johnny and Cora Bell Hay Miller. She was a housewife and mother and a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. Mrs. Miller is survived by one daughter, Helen Miller Rose of Morehead; one son, James "Jim" Miller of Port Charlotte, Florida; one sister, Minnie Crum of Ashland, Ky.; six grandchildren, Nick Seagraves and Karen Dickerson, both of Grayson, Loretta Mayes of Olive Hill, Lowell Wayne Miller of Louisa, Kevin Miller of Port Charlotte, Florida, Charlene Gjerde of Punta Gorda, Florida; 12 great-grandchildren; and 11 great- great-grandchildren. Mrs. Miller is also survived by many friends at Friendship and Chapel House in Grayson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Miller; and one sister, Gladys Steele. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today, April 22, at Sparks Funeral Home with Theodore Evans and Eval DeBord officiating. Burial will be in the Edison Cemetery.
