The Rev. James F. Knipp

SHELBY -- The Rev. James F. Knipp, 75, of Ohio 96 West died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004, at home after a long illness. 

Born July 22, 1929 in Olive Hill, Kentucky, to Robert and Etta Roe Knipp he had resided in the Shelby/Mansfield area since 1956. 

He retired from the Akron/Canton Youngstown Railroad in 1991 after 28 years of service. 

He was the head minister of The Church of God in Jesus Name in Plymouth where he was a mentor to many young ministers. 
During his lifetime he enjoyed nature, watching birds, and visiting with people. 

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Linda Knipp of Pensacola, Florida, and David and Emily Knipp of Lucas; 
five daughters and one son-in-law, Fran and Clay Thomas of Sedona, Arizona, Kathy Knipp of Shelby, Nora Knipp, Teresa Mink and Mary Kissel, all of Mansfield; 
 22 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Ernest Knipp of Columbus; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary L. Knipp in 1997; son, Barry Lee Knipp; and nine brothers and sisters. 

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. from Barkdull Funeral Home. The Reverend Dallas Stamper will officiate with interment in Oakland Cemetery. 
Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 4-8 p.m. 

Memorials may be made to Church of God in Jesus Name.
