Belinda Yvette Kiser-Oakley - 1956-2006

Belinda Yvette Kiser-Oakley, 50 of Carter, Ky., cherished wife to her beloved husband of nearly 30 years, Gerald ?Ike? Oakley, died Thursday evening in St. Claire Medical Center after a brave fight against cancer.
Born Feb. 26, 1956, Mrs. Oakley graduated from West Carter High School and went on to earn both a bachelor?s and master?s degree from Morehead State University. She taught computer classes at Carter Elementary School before going on to teach second grade at the same school, where she remained for 15 years.
She was a member of Carter Christian Holiness Church.
Forever dedicated to her family, Mrs. Oakley chose to raise her two children in a house neighboring the farm on which she grew up. 
Survived by her two children, daughter, Melissa Oakley Griffith of Carter and son, Dwight Oakley of Carter as well as his wife, Megan; her generous and gentle spirit will live on in the lives of her five grandchildren, Gavin Christian Porter, Xavier Griffith, and Amy, Aleea and Matthew Oakley.
Treasured daughter and sister, Mrs. Oakley is survived by her mother, Nancy Akers Kiser of Grayson, Ky.; her father, Bradley Kiser of Olive Hill, Ky.; and stepmother, Ann Kiser.
A constant source of inspiration to her family, Mrs. Oakley will be lovingly remembered among her five siblings, Sandy Jude and her husband Lowell of Winchester, Ky., Randy Kiser of Grayson, Kim Kiser of Grayson, Michael Kiser and his wife, Leigh of Rockmart, Ga., and Steve Kiser and his wife, Marsha of Mantachie, Miss.
Her grandparents, Carter R. and Ollie Hern Kiser and Norman and Flossie Marshall Akers, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be observed from 6 to 9 tonight, Dec. 2 with services on Sunday, Dec. 3 at 2 p.m. at the Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson. Services will be conducted by Pastors Bud and Bill Burnett. Burial will be in Kiser Cemetery in Carter.
Mrs. Oakley will be deeply missed and eternally loved by her many friends and family members.
