Carolyn Sue Boyles        
1940 - 2003 

Carolyn Sue Ketcham Boyles, 62, of Grayson died Tuesday at her residence following a long illness. She was born September 3, 1940, in Spencer, IN, 
a daughter of the late James Walter and Laura McGinnis Ketcham. 

Carolyn was a Christian and a member of the Iron Hill Baptist Church. She loved singing in the choir and the fellowship of her church family. 
She helped work in bible school and in the church Christmas program. 

She loved her family with all her heart. Mom was a cherished word in their hearts. 

Carolyn was a founding member and past President of the Carter Co. Art Guild. She taught art in her home and actively worked to develop the 
arts in Carter Co. Some of her works was bought by the Paramount Arts Center, KY Fried Chicken, and other private collectors. She participated 
in the Carter Caves Art Festival for handicapped children. She served as past President of the Anna Robinson Memorial Art. Show. 
She was a respiratory therapist and also a member of the Grayson Order of Eastern Star # 10 where she was past Worthy Matron. 
She was preceded in death by her husband James “Peanut” Boyles whom she was married to for 41 years in 2001. Her survivors include: 

2 Daughters: Cathy Burns and husband Barry Karen Baier and husband Lewis both of Grayson; Son: Rick Boyles and wife Sheila of Grayson; 
Grandchildren: Jason & Jennifer Burns, Whitney & Ashley Boyles and Kyra, Tyler & Payton Baier. 

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Malone Funeral Home by the minister Jimmy Stephens. 
Burial will be in the East Carter Co. Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 6-9 Thursday and after 9 a.m. Friday on. 
Order of Eastern Star Chapter #10 will be having services at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
