Jama Lou James Carter (1947-2006)

Ms. Jama Lou James Carter, age 59, of Acorn Lane in Olive Hill, Ky., passed away Sunday afternoon, Sept. 3, 2006, at her residence in Olive Hill. 

Ms. Carter was born June 13, 1947, in Carter County, Ky., and is a daughter of the late James Ralph Jr. and Wilma Jean Rice James. 

Jama was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and owner of ABC Day-care in Olive Hill. She was a member of the Family of God Baptist Church of God. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two children, Songa Lanett Lyons and Camille Carter. 

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Amanda Carter of Olive Hill; three grandchildren, Riley Grace Carter, Phillip Cade Carter 
and Jacob Erman Carter; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and Margaret James and JR. and Debbie James, all of Grahn, Ky.; 
five sisters and four brothers-in-law, Stella Williams, and Lori and Jeff Smith, all of Olive Hill, Janis and Danny Blevins of Green Cove Springs, Fla., 
Doreen and Jim Martin of Flowery Branch, Ga., and Sheri and Kenneth White of Morehead, Ky.; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, 
other family members and friends who will sadly miss her. 

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2006 at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill with Brother Joe Plank officiating. 
Burial will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Olive Hill.

Friends may call after 6 tonight and until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Jeff Smith, Kenneth White, Jim Martin, Danny Blevins, Chad Lyons and Jason Green will serve as pallbearers.
