Frank Kenneth Horton - 1929-2007

Frank Kenneth Horton, 76, of Grayson, passed away Friday, Feb. 9, 2007, in King’s Daughters Medical Center after a long illness.

He was born Oct. 22, 1929, in Grayson, a son of the late John and Florence Craig Horton.

Frank became a Christian as a young man and was a member of the First Church of Christ. Soon after graduating from Prichard High School, Frank joined the Army and spent three years in Japan in the military police during the Korean War. Returning from service, he joined the Pennsylvania Drilling Co. where he worked until he retired and returned to Grayson.

He was preceded in death by a dear sister, Reba June Horton; four brothers, Ralph, Wick, Wayne and Homer Horton; a half-sister, Berry Horton Thomas; and two half-brothers, John and Bill Horton.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Imogene Burton Horton; two sisters, Hazel Calhoun and Mary Durisoe of Grayson; three brothers, Glen, Marvin and Donald Horton, all of Grayson; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson by minister Bob Pemberton. Burial will be in East Carter County Memory Gardens.

Friends may call from after 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson, Ky., is in charge of arrangements.
