Roy Horne        
1904 - 2002 

Roy A. Horne of Rush died Sunday in King's Daughters Medical Center following a long illness. 
He was born July 16, 1904, at Rosedale, Ky., a son of the late Walter and Mary Elizabeth Boggs Horne. He became a boilermaker in 1941, and was a retired member of Boilermakers Local #667. 

Roy loved to see things grow, and enjoyed farming, gardening and tending to his yard most of his 98 years. He loved his church, the Rush Freewill Baptist Church, his wife and his family. Roy enjoyed sports, particularly UK and the Cincinnati Reds. 

He is survived by his wife, Mary Emma Davis Horne, whom he wed in 1940, and two sisters, Sarah Mabel Hall and Helen Horne, both of Grayson, Ky. 

He was preceded in death by one sister, Blanche Davis, and one brother, Earl Horne. 

Also surviving are nieces and nephews, Roy Francis Hall, Janet Smith, Jeanette Rogers, Mary Lee Adams, Brent Davis, Joyce Leaver, Gary Goodwin, Susan Sainz, Karen Davis and Kimberly Robinson and several great-nieces and great-nephews and other family members and friends who will miss him deeply. 

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. today. 

Burial will be in the East Carter County Memory Gardens. 

Jerry Foster and Beecher Gollihue will be the ministers. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rush Baptist Chapel, 149 Dawson Road, Rush, Ky. 41168.
