Gladys Hignite Minniehan 

1919-2004 

Gladys Hignite Minniehan, 84, of Carter County, Ky., went to be with the Lord on April 27 in St. Claire Medical Center in Morehead, Ky., due to an extended illness. 

Ms. Minniehan was born in Carter County on July 15, 1919, a daughter of the late Will and Betty Hignite. She was the wife of the late Ted Minniehan. 

Ms. Minniehan was a wife and mother and was a member of Iron Hill Church of Christ. 

She is survived by two daughters, Rita Carper and husband, David, of Grayson, Ky., and Betty Spivey of Columbus, Ohio; two sons, Teddy and Douglas Minniehan and one sister, Edna Floyd, all of Grayson; two sisters-in-law, Edythe and Marrina Hignite; three granddaughters, Debbie Augarten, Robin Williams and Amy Hanshaw; one grandson, Andrew Carper; four great-granddaughters; two great-grandsons; two great-great-grandchildren; four nieces; and one nephew. 

Ms. Minniehan was preceded in death by her parents and her husband; and two brothers, Strother and Charlie Hignite. 

Funeral services will be held at Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson on Friday, April 30, at 11 a.m. with Tim Stamper officiating. 

Friends may call tonight, April 29, from 6 to 9 at the funeral home. 

Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
