Kermit Vernon Gilliam, 71, of Olive Hill, died Thursday at his home.

Mr. Gilliam was born March 13, 1916, in Carter County, a son of the late Jackson and Ethel Qualls Gilliam.

He was a retired employee from the General Refractories Co. in Olive Hill.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mabel Duncan Gilliam; four sons, Willis Gilliam of Coldwell, Texas, Carlos Ray Gilliam and Bobby Laverne Gilliam, 
both of Mansfield, Ohio, and Dallas Gilliam of Olive Hill; a daughter, Joan K. Gilliam of Olive Hill; a brother, Herb Gilliam of Olive Hill; 
two sisters, Lena Rose of Columbus, Ohio, and Ines Webb of Olive Hill; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday at theOney Funeral Home in Olive Hill by the Rev. Della Littleton. Burial will be in the Webb Cemetery.
