Kentucky GenWeb projectThe Journal-Enquirer September 16, 1986 Willie Garvin Olive Hill - Willie Garvin, 91, of Olive Hill, died Wednesday everning, Sept. 11, in Kenova, W. Va. Mr. Garvin was born Jan 13, 1895, in Carter County, a son of the late Jim and Sarah Evans Garvin. He was a retired farmer and a World War I veteran. Surviving are four sons, Pete Garvin of Danville, and Bill Garvin, Ernest H. Garvin and Paul Garvin, all of Olive Hill, two stepsons, William Riggs of Chillicothe, Ohio, and Columbus Riggs of Columbus, Ohio; five daughters, Amanda Garvin of Kenova, Georgia Wooten of Ashville, Ohio, Stella Starling of Mansfield, Ohio, Maude Fisher of Orlando, Fla., and Cassie Smith of Olive Hill; 33 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. The funeral was conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13 at the Globe Funeral Chapel of Olive Hill by Bill Garvin, minister. Burial was in the Garvin family cemetery.
