Haskell “Hack” Gatewood Fraley (1921-2007)

Haskell “Hack” Gatewood Fraley, 85, of Grayson, Ky., passed away on Jan. 29, 2007, at approximately 9:30 p.m. in King’s Daughters Medical Center 
following a brief illness.

He was born Aug. 26, 1921, in Deer Creek in Carter County, Ky., the same place he made his home for his entire 85 years. 
He was the son of the late Dallas and Mary Wilcox Fraley and the husband of the late Dorothy Sammons Fraley.

He worked as a boilermaker from Charleston, W.Va., Local 667 for more than 30 years and also as a coal truck driver. 

He loved Deer Creek, his dogs and talking with his friends and family. He always enjoyed reading and working in his garden. 
He was a member of Willard Church of Christ. 

He is survived by siblings, his children, his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren.

His siblings include the following: Lucille Weldy and her husband, the late Marvin Weldy, of Tipp City, Ohio, Alene Halterman and her husband, 
the late Morton Halterman, of Hitchins, Ky., Wayne Fraley and his wife, Sherry Fraley, of New Carlisle, Ohio, and the late Lois Sammons and her husband, 
the late Burt Sammons, of Ashland, Ky.

His children include the following: Mary Katherine Sexton and her husband, Floyd Sexton, Ronnie Fraley and his wife, Louise Fraley, 
Carl Wayne Fraley and his wife, Susie Fraley, and Beverly Fraley, all of Grayson.

His grandchildren include the following: Darren Sexton and his wife, Panda Sexton, of Grayson, Chad Sexton of Grayson, Shannon Sexton and his wife, 
Dr. Suzanne Sexton, of Covington, Ky., Rhonda Fannin of Grayson, Laci Jenkins and her husband, Shannon Jenkins, of Grayson, Bethany Dyer and her husband, 
Scott Dyer, of Grayson and Brandon Fraley and his wife, Beth Fraley, of Grayson.

His great-grandchildren include the following: Devin Reynolds, Dustin Sexton, Emily White, Layne Fraley, Lindsay Fannin, Bradon Jenkins, 
McClain Dyer and Anna Fraley. He also leaves behind a host of other beloved family and friends.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson by Dave Braun, minister of Willard Church of Christ.

Burial will be in East Carter County Memory Gardens.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
