Melissia Votaw

BRYAN - Melissia E. (Ford) Votaw, 100, Bryan, died today at her daughter's home in Bryan.

She was born May 10, 1901, in Carter County, Ky., the daughter of John and Vilinda (Jones) Ford. In 1920, she married Edgar Votaw, who died in 1963. 
She was a homemaker, a life member of Bryan Church of the Nazarene and served as the 1918 Miss Illinois.

Surviving are a son, Harold Sr., Pioneer; three daughters, Helen Smith of Bryan, Hilda Votaw of Lincolnwood, Ill., and Hyla Fisher, Zephyrhills, Fla.; 
and 11 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Everett and Harry Ford; four sisters, Dorothy Paine, Mildred Inhulsen, Bettye Graff and Helen Crete Ford; 
and a grandson.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Oberlin-Ford Funeral Home, Bryan, with Pastor Tracy Hammond officiating. 
Burial will be in Shiffler Cemetery, Bryan. Visitation is from 4-7 p.m. Friday.

Preferred memorials are to Hospice of Williams and Fulton Counties.
