James Edward “Ed” Dickerson - 1914-2007

James Edward “Ed” Dickerson, 93, of Grayson, departed this life on Thursday, Nov. 22, 2007 to join the Lord in heaven.

He was born Oct. 8, 1914, in Grahn, Ky., a son of the late George and Martha Pennington Dickerson.

He was retired in 1978 from the Grayson Post Office. He was a WWII Army veteran and a member of First Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Ruby Salyers Dickerson in 1998. 
He was also preceded by six brothers, Jack, Murl, Hearl, Roy, Claude and Bill Dickerson; 
and two sisters, Christen Kiser and Ruby Craig. 

His survivors include six sons, Donald (Linda) of Commerce, Mich., Larry (Wanda) of Sandy Hook, Bill (Donna) of Grayson, 
Tom of Grayson, Bob (Larena) of Grayson and Richard (Kim) Dickerson of Fort Myers, Fla.; two sisters, Collen Steel 
and Lorain Hall of Grayson; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Monday, Nov. 26, 2007 at 1 p.m. at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson by Lewis Davis. 
Burial will be in East Carter County Memory Gardens.

Friends may call Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
