John Carter 1936 - 2003 John L. Carter, age 66, of Lambertville, MI, passed away Sunday, March 2nd, 2003 at the Flower Hospital in MI. He was born March 15th, 1936, at Carter County, Ky., a son of the late Frank and Mary Damron Carter. He was employed with General Mills for 39 and ½ years, retiring in 1996. John was a member and treasurer of the I.O.O.F. Lodge. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years: Grace Helen Shaffer Carter; daughter: Carmen (& Russell) Smith of Lambertville, MI; son: Robert K. (& Lisa) Carter of Lambertville, MI; Grandchildren : Joshua and Caleb Smith, Alex and Lauren Carter, Step-Grandchildren: Lindsey Kanarowski, Thomas Couture; 2 sisters: Mahala Kimbler of Sylvanina, OH and Wellinia Everman of Lapeer, MI; brother: Robert Carter of Russell, KY. He was preceded in death by a half sister, Sylvia Luman and half brothers, Curt and Delmar Carter. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, March 7th at 11:00am at the Malone Funeral Home, with John Newland, minister. Burial will be in the Cribbs Hill Cemetery.
