WAYNE CARTEE, 91, widower of Christine Davenport Cartee, died Friday, April 20, 2007, at Covenant Place. 
Mr. Cartee was born November 26, 1915, in Carter City, Ky., the son of the late Charles and Blanche McLease Cartee. 

He retired from the CSX Railroad after 34 years as an electrical engineer. He was a licensed Ham (amateur) radio operator 
and obtained his license at the age of 14. He was a member of the Sumter Radio Relay League and the A.R.R.L (American Radio Relay League) 
and was also a Mason, a member of the Scottish and York Rite, a Shriner and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. 
He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a member of the Chesapeake Christian Church in Chesapeake, Ohio, 
and was an associate member of Northside Baptist Church in Sumter, S.C. 

Survivors are: One daughter, Brenda Cartee Barwick and her husband Bruce of Sumter; 
One granddaughter, Angie Harkins Hancock and her husband David of Rock Hill, S.C.; 
and two great-grandchildren, Jamie and Chandler. He was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Cartee Collier. 

Graveside services will be held at Highland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in South Point, Ohio, at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 25, 2007. 

Memorials may be made to the Ascension Hospice, 5429 Bush River Rd, Columbia, SC 29212.
