Glen Carroll, 72, of 201 Meadowview Drive, Grayson, died Thursday, May 21 at his home following a sudden illness.     

Mr. Carroll was born Oct. 5, 1914, in Carter County, a son of the late John and 
Edna Haight Carroll.     

He was a retired  inspector for General Motors Truck 
and Coach in Pontiac, Mich., and a World War II Army veteran. He was a member 
of Laborers Local Union 1445 in Ashland.     

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mildred Stamper Carroll; a daughter, Glenna Bailey of Ashland; a sister, 
Dollie Whitt of Grayson; four grandchildren; and a great-grandson. He was 
preceded in death by a son, Paul Ray Carroll.     

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, May 23 at the Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson by Allan 
Barger and Lewis Davis. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery.
