Opal Faye Campbell Newland, 71, of Grayson, died Thursday, May 27, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. 

Mrs. Newland was born Nov. 15, 1932, in Cherokee. 

Her husband, John C. Newland, survives. 

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson. Burial will be in Kemper Cemetery. 

Friends may call from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Community Hospice, 1538 Central Ave., Ashland, Ky. 41101.

Opal Campbell Newland 1932 - 2004 Opal Faye Campbell Newland, age 71, of Grayson, KY died Thursday morning, May 27th, 2004 in the Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY. She was born November 15, 1932, at Cherokee in Lawrence County, KY, a daughter of the late Millard and Cora Adams Campbell. She was a homemaker and a member of the Pactolus United Methodist Church. Preceding her in death was a grandson, Kenneth Lee Bradford; her sisters, Elsie Suttles and Pauline Suttles and infant sisters, Della and Emma Campbell, Nellie Campbell and Myrtle Louise Campbell; her brothers, Luther Campbell and Leroy Campbell and an infant brother, Leonard Campbell. Her survivors include: Her husband of 53 years: John C. Newland of Grayson; 3 daughters and 3 sons-in-law: Linda and Bob Leadingham of Grayson, Jeannie and George Martin of Grayson and Brenda and Nick Bradford Leslie, Michigan; 2 sons and 2 daughters-in-law: Johnny and Carolyn Colegrove Newland of Crane Creek, Phillip and Jackie Bradford Newland of Crane Creek; Grandchildren: John Leadingham, Roberta Leadingham of Grayson; Bruce Martin of Winchester, KY, Rob Martin of Grayson, Lorie Sue Conley of Isonville, KY, April Estepp of Olive Hill, KY, Misty Branham of Hitchins, KY, Joshua Bradford, Richie Bradford of Leslie, Michigan, Jeremy Newland of Lansing, Michigan; Step-Grandchild: Rene Huff of Grayson; Great-grandchildren: Joshua Leadingham, Jacob Leadingham of Grayson, Kaila Martin, Levi Martin of Winchester, Jayda Martin of Greenup, KY, Anna Estepp, Eric Estepp and Austin Estepp all of Olive Hill, Mandy Conley, Jamie Conley both of Isonville, Chase Branham of Grayson; Step-great-grandchildren: Ashley Sexton and Shelby Artis both of Grayson; 1 sister: Lila Spillman of Flatwoods, KY; 2 brothers: Walter Campbell of Grayson and Ray Campbell of Webbville, KY. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, May 30th, 2004, at 2:00pm at the Malone Funeral Home with John Dean and Tom Riffe, ministers. Burial will be in the Kemper Cemetery.
