Lawrence “Larry” Burton - 1929-2007

Lawrence “Larry” Burton, 77, of Russell, Ky., died May 22, 2007, in Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky.

Mr. Burton was born Dec. 11, 1929, in Athens, Ohio, a son of the late Lawrence Edgar and Edna Virginia Gilkey Burton.

He retired from the city of Athens as a parking lot supervisor and was a meat cutter for 25 years. 
He was a member of Amazing Grace Community Church in Tuppers Plains, Ohio, and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

Surviving are his wife, Pauline Gunderson Burton of Russell; his extended family, Ray and Diane Hounshell of Cincinnati; 
aunts and uncles Ralph and Patty Hoy of Russell, Mary Cover and the late Albert of Grayson, Ky., and Carolyn Smith and the late Frederick of Fairfield, Ohio;
sister-in-law Beverly Peters and the late H.W. of Mount Sterling, Ky.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at 8 p.m. Friday, May 25, at Carman Funeral Home in Russell by Brother Jake Miller.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2007, at the funeral home.
