Mrs. Evelyn Parsons 59, of Gallia Street, Wheelersburg, Ohio, died at 1:45 p.m. in Mercy Hospital, Portsmouth, Ohio, after a long illness. 
Mrs. Parsons, who had been a patient in the hospital since Sunday, was the wife of Charles S. Parsons.
 
She was a native of Olive Hill, KY and formerly had taught school eight years there.
 
Surviving besides her husband is her mother Mrs. John Fultz Burton: two daughters Mrs. Bonnie Ottney of Rt.2 Sciotoville, Ohio 
and Shirley Evans of Wheelersburg, Ohio: four stepdaughters, Miss Clara Mae Parsons of Dayton, Ohio, Mrs. Mary McLean of Toledo, Ohio, 
Mrs. Sara Williams of Huntington, W. VA, and Mrs. Gertrude Shumway of Rt.2, Sciotoville, Ohio, two stepsons, Edwin Parsons of Wheelersburg, Ohio 
and Willie Parsons of Dayton, Ohio, three sisters, Mrs. Tressie Edison of Niles, Ohio, Mrs. Audrey Searight of Huntington, W. VA, 
and Mrs. Erma Cochran of Geneva, Ohio: four brothers, Eugene and Claude Burton of Olive Hill, KY, James Burton of Mansfield, 
and Charles Burton of Geneva, Ohio: three grandchildren, 15 step-grandchildren, and a step-great-grandchild.
 
Mrs. Parsons was of the Primitive Baptist faith.  Funeral services are to be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Antioch Baptist Church at Lyra, Ohio 
with Elders Harlan Montgomery and Leroy Ruggles officiating. Interment is to be in Vernon Cemetery, Porter Twp., Scioto County, Ohio.
