Curtis Burton - 1934-2007

Curtis Burton, 73, of Carter Caves Road, Olive Hill, Ky., passed away Monday, May 28, at his home.

Mr. Burton was born Feb. 16, 1934, in Carter, Ky., a son of Lonnie Burton Sr. and Sarah Jane Hicks. His wife, Ella May Littleton Burton, preceded him in death.

He was a farmer and worked at General Refractories. He retired from A.O. Smith in Mount Sterling, Ky., and was a member of IBEW.

He is survived by a son, Mike (Penny) Burton of Carter Caves Road; three sisters, Liz Risner of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, Kathleen Helm of Noneoye Falls, N.Y., and Cora Waggoner of Grayson, Ky.; a brother, Lonnie Burton Jr. of Carter Caves Road; and two granddaughters, Miranda and Samantha Burton.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Paulina Burton Edwards of Sciotoville, Ohio.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Oakland Christian Church on Carter Caves Road. He will lie in state from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.

Friends may call after 6 p.m. Thursday at Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson.
