Kentucky GenWeb projectDIED -- At his home in Carter Co., Ky., Sunday morning, May 23rd, 1875, REV. JNO. CLARK BAYLESS, in the 57th year of his age. In former days, Mr. Bayless was well known all through the hills and valleys of West Virginia, where he was a pioneer preacher. He travelled here when the country was in great part a wilderness; when there were no railroads, very few industrial enterprises, and when the people were better and simpler than they are now. He was an earnest, faithful and effective preacher. Rev. J. D. McClintock was absent last Sunday, attending his funeral. The Advertiser, Huntington, W.Va., Thursday, May 27, 1875
