Joseph “Duke” Adams Jr. (1944-2007)

Joseph “Duke” Adams Jr., 63, of Grayson, Ky., formerly of Franklin Furnace, Ohio, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007, 
at his residence following an extended illness.

He was born March 27, 1944, in Baltimore, a son of the late Joseph Franklin and Mary Avanelle Brumfield Adams and 
the son-in-law of Elsie Sergent McDavid of Grayson and the late Gene McDavid.

He was a retired boilermaker of 30 years with Local 40, a former Grayson city commissioner and a member of Jr. Furnace Missionary Baptist Church.

His survivors include his wife of 35 years, Linda McDavid Adams of Grayson; two sons, Joey Michael (and Shannon) Adams of Raceland, Ky., 
and Larry Sheldon (and Keeshla) Griffith of Grayson; two daughters, Kristin (and Todd) Hatcher of Georgia and Tammy Jo Adams of Portsmouth, Ohio; 
two brothers, John (and Theresa) Adams of Albuquerque, N.M., and Brian (and Heather) Adams of Sugar Grove, Ohio; 
a sister, Emma Adams (and fiance Ike) of Glouster, Ohio; and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007, at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson by Michael Adkins and Randy Binion. 
Burial will be in East Carter County Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
