This indenture made and entered into this 11th day of December 1837 between Hiram Denton of the County of Bath, State of Kentucky of the first part and John Denton of the county and state aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that whereas the said John Denton is bound as security by said Hiram Denton to a certain Daniel Ficklin in the sum of one hundred and fifteen dollars due the 25th day of Dec. 1837 and fifty seven dollars due the 25th day of Dec. 1837 to Samuel Estill now in order to secure said John Denton on account of said security ??? and the further consideration of one dollar current money of Kentucky the recipt wherefor is thereby acknowledged, I the said Hiram Denton have this day granted bargained and sold and by these presents do convey unto the said John Denton all of the following property, to whit, four cows, one sow and five pigs, four tables, five table cloths, six bedsteads, sixbeds & bedding, two cupboards and funiture, one bureau, one clock, one side saddle, one mans saddle nine chairs one looking glass, one lot of corn, one lot of hay, one lot of pork, two spads, one set of and irons, one fire ???, two water buckskins, one waggon, two pair of gear, two axes, one hoe, one lot of plank, one stove, one chest, one barrel of vinegar, one ten gallon hat to have and to hold unto him the said John Denton and his heirs forever free from the claims of the said Hiram Denton and his heirs and all other persons whatever and the said Hiram Denton for himself, his heirs the title of said property unto him the said John Denton and his heirs will warrant and will forever defend, subject never-the-less to the following provisions....
