Cora Lee (Madden) Lewis Death Certificate

The 1880 Census for Carter County shows the household of James Harris. It contains his daughter Catherine Madden, 31 years of age and his granddaughter Corah Madden, 8 years of age.

Cora later married Samuel Wilcox Lewis, who was also in Carter County in 1880. They ended up in California where they both passed away. I always suspected that her father was Matthew Madden's son John but since he was not shown in the family in 1880 (probably died), I could not prove it. This Death Certificate does prove that Catherine Harris was married to John Madden and that he was Cora Lee's father.
