Beaver Creek Trail

Rt. 801 to Rt. 1274 at Cave Run Lake



The routing of the ancient trail through this 
sector is well known. The bed of the Licking River 
passed through what is now Cave Run Lake. While the 
lake has obliterated the ground on which the original 
trail rested, the lake's creation has preserved the natural 
beauty of the surrounding area, and gives us some sense 
of the world the ancent travelers experienced as 
they passed through this remarkable area.
