State of Ohio, County of Preble; In the month of September 1832, the aforesaid pensioner appeared in open court. He was a resident of Dickson Township in Preble County in the state of Ohio and was aged 76 years. He stated that he had first entered the service in the year 1779 in Rowan County in the state of North Carolina. The said pensioner also stated and swore that he had been born in the county of Baltimore, state of Maryland on the 24th day of May 1756, and that he had resided in Rowan County, North Carolina and that he had been a soldier in the War of the Revolution on the side of the United States.
The affidavit of Josiah Conger and John Collins was also given, at the same time and in the same place as the foregoing. The said deponents stated and swore that at one time and in the said county and state they had been both well an favorably acquainted with the said pensioner, William DeCoursy. And they also wore that they found his testimony to be worthy of the credit which was due it.

The affidavit of Joseph Hawkins was also given at the same time at the same place as the foregoing on the 24th of September 1832. The said deponent stated and swore that the preceding testimonies were truthful and full credit was due them.
Elizabeth DeCoursy appeared before the judge of the Campbell County Kentucky Court on July 7, 1842. At the age of 82 years, and she stated that her husband was a private in the War of the Revolution, and that he had first entered the said service in Rowan County, North Carolina. She further stated that they had been married on Monday, July 15, 1776. She also stated and swore that her husband had died on October 23, 1841, and she stated that her husband had been placed on the pension roll on March 5, 1833 at which time they lived in Preble County in the state of Ohio. She stated that he drew his pension in the city of Cincinnati in the state of Ohio, but he resided in Campbell County, Kentucky for four or five years previous to his death.

August 26, 1842, William Decourcy appeared before Charles Murnan, and stated that his wife Elizabeth Irwin DeCourcy was his lawful wife, and it was stated at the same time that she remained the widow and relict of the said pensioner.
