CIVIL WAR VETERAN
Valentine J Hubert, 80, a prominent resident of Cold Spring, a
pioneer resident of Campbell County and a veteran of the Civil War, died
yesterday at his home after a lingering illness. Old age was the cause of
death.

Valentine John Hubert was born in Sep 1823 in Bavaria and was married to Katherine Marxmiller, daughter of John and Magdalene Marxmiller. He claimed a pension 29 Feb 1884 and Katherine then received the pension 6 Sep 1902. He was buried in Evergreen Cemetery.
