Laycock and Clark filed suit Saturday in Newport against Captain Riggs, owner of the towboat Ada V in the Quarterly Court, to recover $150.  The boat was sunk by the ice several days ago and the plaintiffs were employed to raise it.

They allege that the boat was raised to the water level, but that it is now in a precarious position on account of the water and that Riggs has refused to pay them. Deputy Sheriff Davis attached the little vessel and placed a man in charge of it.  Later Captain Riggs filed an indemnifying bond in order that the work of salvage would be prosecuted.
