Small-Pox in Campbell County
At Oakland, Campbell County, opposite Morning View, this county (Kenton) the small-pox has broken out and sixteen cases are reported in the neighborhood. Yesterday a meeting was held by the citizens to take measure to prevent the spread of the disease and to protect the community from the cases already existing.
Yellow flags must be displayed from all infected places, and no one will be allowed to cross the river without first being subjected to an examination. A committee was appointed to see that the law in regard to the spread of infectious diseases was enforced.
The party, Lon Bryant, who came into the neighborhood with the disease, is charged with willfully and maliciously exposing himself, and is to be legally proceeded against. On such death has occurred from the disease, Mr. Ben Goseny (sic) Jr. The community is very much excited and Lon Bryant is threatened with mob violence.
