L D "Shorty" Pearce

NEWPORT
L D Pearce, or more familiarly known as "Shorty" was found dead
in bed yesterday morning at his room, Seventh and Isabella streets. He was
a barber by trade and was for a number of years employed at Bitzer's shop, at
the above corner.
He was subject to himorrhages of the lungs and was taken with a very severe one during Thursday night, as his bed was completely saturated with blood.
