John James Jenner
Information comes from the obituary notice in the Jenner family files at the Campbell County Historical and Genealogical Society in Alexandria Ky. The obituary has a reference to the Pendleton Reformer, which is possibly where the obituary was posted.
John James Jenner, after several weeks of severe illness, died Thursday October 3, 1918 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Ed Caldwell near Persimmon Grove, aged 74 years, 1 month and 27 days. Deceased was born near Claryville August 6, 1844 where he spent his boyhood days.
He was married to Frances Louise Gosney April 9, 1868 and they journeyed together more than 50 years. To this union were born 10 children; Mrs. Ed Caldwell of Persimmon Grove, Mrs. James Gosney of Alexandria, Mrs. Virgil Richie of Whiteland Indiana; Mrs. Carey Patterson of Faulkton SD; Mrs. Fred Peterson of Ogden Iowa, Mrs. James Maddox of Ashton DS and Marlon Jenner of Richmond Illinois and all these were present at the funeral except Mrs. Peterson who was unable to get her, Miss Lorene having preceded her father to the grave four years ago and Samuel, the youngest died in infancy.
Besides the above named that survive are the companion and 22 grandchildren and one brother, Charles Jenner of St Charles Missouri. They had traveled extensively for several years making their home with their children in Indiana, Illinois, Iowa and South Dakota, but for the last four years had made their home at Alexandria and Persimmon Grove with their daughter.
The funeral was held Saturday from the Grants Lick Baptist Church, Rev J P Shanks of Alexandria officiating. Rardin & Fryer had charge. The pallbearers were A S Radin, Henry Cabelet, Taylor Clark, John Hess, John Gosney and D B Yelton. (handwritten note-also son Morell Jenner) Interment in Oakland Cemetery.
