Alexandria Court Order Book 2, page 2, 27 May 1816

Richard Nelson is appointed Surveyor of the road leading from Kennedy's Ferry to Grants Lick in the room and precinct of Enos Daniel and to be assisted by William Rice, Joel Hampton, Enos Daniel's hands and John Corbin to Keep the said road in repair as the Law directs.

Enos Daniel is appointed Surveyor of the road from the Washington road leading toward Augusta in Bracking County from the said Washington road to the Pendleton County line and to be assisted by the hands of Richard Nelson and Wm Thompson, Surveyors in cutting out said road.

It is ordered that John Corbin, John Ducker Jr. Wm Thompson Jr. and Jas C Lindsey or any three of them, being first sworn do view and mark out a road from D L Carnes to Millers Mill and also to view a road from John Barkers farm to Isles Mill on the Ohio and make report to Court &c.
