Jeanette Simlick, 5 year old daughter of Fred Simlick, of Thornton and Patterson-sts. Newport, wad badly injured early last evening, at Eleventh and Patterson, when an ice wagon passed over her legs.  The child started to cross in front of the wagon, which was heavily laden with ice, and proceeding at a moderate rate of speed.  The horses knocked her down, and before the driver could stop the team, the wheels passed over both her limbs.  Patrolman Cottingham ordered the child removed to Speers Hospital in the patrol  Physicians say that both limbs will probably be amputated.

Jeanette Simlick, 5, who was run over by an ice wagon, at Eleventh and Madison-sts. Wednesday night, died shortly after midnight.  It was necessary to amputate both of the child's legs, and she was unable to withstand the shock.
