FT THOMAS
Lieutenant Colonel James Henton, Twenty-third Infantry, died very
suddenly this week at Ft Ringgold Texas. In 1853, Colonel Henton enlisted
for the Sixth Infantry, the regiment now at Ft Thomas and was with the regiment
in its celebrated march from the Missouri River to California in 1858.
