George Parsons and Mary French
George Parsons French was born 28 Aug 1812 in Gloucester England. He married Mary Crowther about 1832 in Stafford England. They immigrated to America arriving 27 May 1844 on the ship Patrick Henry to New York City. In 1850 they were living in Brownsville, Fayette Co Pennsylvania. In the 1856 Newport City Directory, George is listed as a foreman, his son George was a moulder and son Jonathan was an engineer. In the 1860 census George was working as a merchant.
George French was an engineer and worked in Newport. He died 17 June 1865 in Newport and was buried in the Newport Cemetery (now Evergreen) in Southgate.
Mary French was born in 1802 in England and died 31 Dec 1886 in St Louis Missouri. She was buried in the Bellefontaine Cemetery in St Louis.
