Floyd F. Hayman was born in Newport, Ky., November 11, 1849, and is a son of R. Hayman, also a native of Newport, where he was a merchant from 1830 to 1865, and was also a farmer and stock raiser but moved to Portsmouth, Ohio, some years ago.

Floyd F. Hayman is one of two children, the other being a sister Mattie, who married Dr. Timple of New Richmond, Ohio, and has two children: Richard and Laura.  Mr. Hayman was educated in Newport, Ky., and graduated at the Cincinnati Institute in 1866.  He was assistant in an office for three years, after which he was bookkeeper for R. H. Hayman & Co.  He then entered the county clerk's office as recording clerk from 1874 to 1877, and later was in the employ of the Newport Abstract and Index Co., when he went to Alexandria, where he now resides.

He is also the regular correspondent of the Kentucky State Journal.  He is a member
of the Episcopal Church, and a Democrat politically.  He is a man of fine business capacities, and is of great service to the public owing to his familiarity with the public records.
