Daniel Abbott was born 23 May 1801 in England. However, in the 1880 census Daniel states that both his parents were born in Kentucky. Daniel married his first wife Mary Beagle, daughter of Thomas Beagle and Cecelia Wine 16 Oct 1824 in Campbell Co. Mary died 2 Oct 1855 in Carthage and was buried in the Carmack Cemetery. Daniel married his second wife Rebecca Parker, a widow 4 Feb 1856 in Carthage. She died in 1860. Daniel died 25 Apr 1894 in Carthage and was also buried in the Carmack Cemetery.

Daniel married his third wife Mary Cyne (death certificate says Tracy) 9 June 1862 in Carthage. Mary was born in Ireland June 1824. Mary Tracy was born in Cork County Ireland, 25 Aug 1830. Mary and her brother Thomas left the family home at the time of the Orange and Green Religious Rebellion. After family differences, Mary and Thomas packed their knapsacks and sailed for America, never to return.
