NEWPORT
One of the oldest pioneers of this city, Mrs. Charlotte Stemler,
quietly passed away Wednesday, at the advanced age of 90 years at the residence
of her daughter, Mrs. C Knoop, of Eighth and Ann streets. The deceased was one
of the best Christians of this city and also a constant attendant at the Salem
ME Church, from which the funeral will take place this afternoon at 2 o'clock.
