Pursuant to previous appointment the Commissioners of Common Schools for Campbell County convened, at Alexandria, July 21st 1838, for the purpose of districting the part of Campbell County above Licking river. Saml. Baker Esq. was called to the Chair and Alpheus W. Blinn was appointed Secretary.

The meeting then proceeded to lay off the districts beginning at Newport.

It was agreed that District No. 1 shall include Newport, and its immediate vicinity; extending from the mouth of Licking, to Harris' upper Corner near Three Mile Creek -- thence to the house of Mr. Hooper including his land -- thence, including Daniel Mayo's land, to Stubbs' old place -- thence, including the Medical wells to Gen. Taylor's upper line and thence to the Ohio river by Todd's lower line.

District No. 2. will extend from Todd's lower line, up the Ohio, to Cooper's upper line, -- thence between Cooper and Caldwell to Perry's land -- thence to Lindsey's land including it -- thence to Taylor's line, and thence, by the boundry (sic) of No. 1, to the Ohio river.

District No. 3. will extend from Cooper's upper line, to L. Ware's lower line -thence with said line, to Graham's line, thence to Wm. Miles' line including his land, then with Miles' line to Clark's line including him and thence including Colwell's land to his upper line Thence to Harrison's southern line including his land, and thence to Licking excluding Tibbatt's farm, and thence down Licking to the boundry (sic) of No. l, thence by the boundry (sic) of No. 1 & 2, to the Ohio river.

District No. 4. will extend from L. Ware's lower line up the Ohio river to include said & Daniel Ware, thence to include Mrs. Parker & H. Cast* -- thence in a strait (sic) line to the low gap, -- thence to J. White's including Trusdell's land -- thence down Ripple Creek to Burn's, including Southgate's land and thence to the mouth of Ripple Creek, and thence down Licking to the line of No. 3. thence by said line to the Ohio river.

District No. 5. will extend from the mouth of Four Mile Creek up the Ohio to the mouth of Ten Mile Creek, thence to S. Gilm,* thence to J. Sutton's, thence to Kingory's including his farm, thence to D. Smith's farm, thence to Mrs. Black's and Mr. Croslin's,* thence to Jas. Spaulding's, thence to Mr. Perry's, thence to Mr. Tucker's thence with McArthur's line to intersect the line of No. 4., in Mrs. Parker's line; and thence with the line of No. 4. to the Ohio river.

District No. 6. will extend from the mouth of Ripple Creek up Licking to the mouth of Pond Creek, thence up Pond Creek to the point where the south line of A W White's survey* will cross it, thence with So.* line to the Corner of T.* Pruett's survey,* thence with line of T. Pruett to Kingory's line in No. 5, thence with the line of No. 5. to the line of No. 4, & thence with this line to the mouth of Ripple Creek.

District No. 7. will extend from the mouth of Ten Mile Creek to the upper line of Saml. Raridan's land on the Ohio thence to include J. Anderson, thence to include Widow Carmack's land, thence including Jno.* Stevens' land, thence to include Wm. Hes,* thence, including Michael Smith's land, thence to include Wm. Marvin, thence to Pruett's line in No. 6. thence with this line to Kingory's, and thence with the line of No. 5, to the mouth of Ten Mile Creek.

District No. 8. will extend from the mouth of Pond Creek up said Creek to the State road, thence with the State road to Grant's Lick, thence with the old County road to Robert's old mill, so as to include the tracts of land of all those living on the west side of said road, and thence down the river to the mouth of Pond Creek.

District No. 9. will extend from G. Hopkins' to P. Gosney's and B. Gosney's thence to A. Gray's including the lands of each of them, thence from Gray's to Ball's* Cabbins (sic), thence with the road to Wm. Brown's so as to include said Brown, thence to the mouth of dead timber run on twelve mile Creek, thence down said Creek to Wm. Marvin's in the boundry (sic) of No. 7. Thence with the line of

No. 6. to the State road, and thence with the state road to the beginning.

District No. 10. will extend from Saml. Raridan's upper line, up the Ohio river to include W.H. Young's land, thence to include Jas. Hubbard's land, thence in a strait (sic) line to Nelson's old mill on Twelve Mile Creek, thence down the said Creek to the mouth of Stevens' branch thence with the line of No. 7. to the beginning.

District No. 11. will extend from Andrew Bigg's lower line on the Ohio river, running thence so as to exclude the land of Jas. Hubbard, thence on to Nelson's old mill, thence up Wells' Creek, including Mr. Dale & L. DeMoss,* thence up the Creek to the mouth of the first big branch on the east side, thence to the Washington trace so as to exclude Jas. Baynum, thence up said trace to the County line, excluding N. Tatman, and thence by the County line to the Ohio river and thence by the river to the beginning.

District No. 12. will extend from Nelson's old mill to Brown's thence to Ball's* Cabins, thence to A. Gray's, thence down Grays branch to Twelve Mile Creek, thence up said Creek to the County line and thence by the county line to the Washington trace, and thence by the line of No. 11, to the beginning.

District No. 13. will extend from Roberts' old mill on Licking river, thence on Licking to the County line, thence with said line to the state road, thence crossing said road to Twelve Mile Creek, thence with the line of No. 12. to A. Gray's, thence to G. Hopkins' and thence with the state road to Grant's Lick thence with the line of No. 8, to the beginning.

Pursuant to previous notice the Commissioners of Common Schools for Campbell County and the assistant Commissioners appointed by the County Court met at the Bagby precinct, on Saturday the 4th day of August, 1838 and proceeded to organize by Calling Samuel Baker Esq. to the Chair and appointing A W Blinn Secretary.

On motion it was agreed to commence the school districts at Covington.

It was agreed on the motion of I. Phelps Esq. that the City of Covington shall be divided into two districts and that Scott Street shall be the boundry (sic) line between them. That part of the City above Scott Street to be known as District No. 1 and that below said Street as District No. 2.

District No. 3 Will extend from the Corporation line of the City of Covington down the Ohio river to the mouth of pleasant run Creek thence with said run to the road leading from the mouth of Dry Creek to Platt Kenedys farm on the turnpike road Thence with the turnpike road to Corporation line of Covington and thence with said line to the Beginning.

District No. 4 Will extend from the turnpike road near Platt Kenedys farm thence in a line to the Latonean Springs on Banklick Creek so as to exclude the lands of A.P. Sandford Thence down the Creek to the mouth Thence down Licking to the Corporation Line of Covington Thence with the Corporation line to the turnpike and thence witfi the turnpike to the Beginning

District No. 5 Will extend from the mouth of Pleasant run down the Ohio river to the Boone County line Thence with the Boone line to Mrs. Hamittons* including her Thence by the way of James Dollens including him and E. Vicker's* to Platt Kenedys farm at the turnpike Thence with the line of No. 3 to the beginning.

District No. 6 Will extend from Mrs. Hamittons'^ with the Boone County line to

a point where a line will strike the Bullock pen fork of Banklick Creek so as to leave out Mrs. McGlasson and Mrs. Lucy Huffman Thence with the Bullock pen fork to Cains* Mill Thence including N. Clove* and P R Watson to Platt Kenedys farm and thence to the beginning with the line of No. 5.

District No. 7 Will extend from Cains Mill at the road Thence with the road to N. Cloves* including Bryant Seniours* Thence to P.R. Watsons Thence to Platt Kenedys Thence to the Latonean Springs including A.P. Sandford Thence to Frederick Cox's Thence to the mouth of the branch at W. Carters Thence to the road at the mouth of Fowlers Creek to include the Citizens immediately on the road and Thence to Cains Mill.

District No. 8 Will extend from the mouth of Banklick Creek up Licking River to the upper line of John Armstrong's land. Thence with his line including Reuben Lancaster to DeCoursey's Creek Thence down DeCourseys Creek to the road Thence with the road to the intersection of Grant and Taylor Mill road Thence to the line of No 7 at Cox's Thence to Banklick and thence down Banklick to the Beginning.

District No. 9 Will extend from John Armstrong's upper line on Licking river thence up Licking to the mouth of Steep Creek Thence up Steep to the road leading from Rusks to Reddicks Thence to James Mardis's him Thence to him Thence to where the lineCreek including Geo. Lipscombs including him Thence to Asa McCollums including James McColIums including him Thence down DeCoursey's Creek to of No 8 strikes the Creek and Thence to the Beginning -

District No. 10 Will extend from Asa McCollums passing James McCollums to DeCourseys Creek. Thence down the Creek to Grants road Thence with the road to where it intersects Taylor Mill road Thence to F Cox's Thence to the mouth of the branch at W. Carters Thence with the line of District No. 7 to the mouth of Fowlers Creek Thence up Fowlers Creek to the mouth of Tompkins' branch Thence by said branch to Yates road Thence by said road to the beginning.

District No 11 Will extend from the mouth of Fowlers Creek up said Creek to include G. Picket John Stephens and Charles Oliver to the Burlington road Thence to the point where Harveys line crosses Brushy fork Thence down Brushy fork to where the new road crosses Thence with the new road to Banklick Creek Thence down Banklick to the beginning.

District No. 12 Will extend from the Boone County line at the point where James Monroes south line crosses the County line Thence with Monroes line to Banklick Creek Thence with Harveys line to Brushy fork Thence with the line of No. 11 to Banklick Thence with Banklick Creek and the lines of Leonard Stephens Edmond Stephens Stephen Rice Benjamin Stephens Senr.* and William M. Rispej* so as to include them to the County line Thence with the Boone line to the Beginning.

District No. 13 Will extend from where Rusks road crosses Steep Creek Thence up Steep Creek to Wilsons old farm including it Thence in a straight line line (sic) to Bowmans Creek. Thence up said Creek to the Crossing of the Falmouth road Thence to Isaac Riggs grn.* Thence by the road from said Riggs to Fowlers Creek Thence to the Burlington road Thence with the line of No. 11 to Tompkins branch Thence up said branch to Yates road Thence with said road to A. McCollums Thence with the line of No 9 to the beginning.

District No 14 Will extend from the mouth of Steep Creek Thence up said Creek & with the lines of Nos. 9 & 13 to the three forks of Bowmans Creek Thence with the Falmouth road to William Bells leaving him out Thence to the Lock and Dam No 3 so as to include H Roberts Thence down Licking to the beginning.

District No. 15. Will extend from the lock and dam No 3 up Licking to the Pendleton County line Thence with said iine to a branch opposite to Richd. Mann farm Thence up said branch to James Kidwells including him Thence in a straight line to David Fisks on Cruises Creek so as to include him Thence in a straight line to Wm. Bells including him and Thence with the line of No. 14 to the beginning.

District No. 16 Will extend from the Pendleton line with the line of No. 15. to David Fisks on Cruises Creek Thence up Cruises Creek to the mouth of Sayers fork Thence up Sayers fork to Maj Carlisles Spring branch Thence up his spring branch to the road leading from Falmouth to Sayers Thence with the road to B. Pearsons including him Thence in a line so as to include R Hughtown* John Muirheid* Senr. and Jas. Barton to the Pendleton line excluding Clinton Hyatt Thence with the Pendleton line to the beginning

District No 17 Will extend from the three forks of Bowmans Creek to John H. Armstrong's Thence in a line so as to exclude N. Stephens and A Bird to the straight fork of Cruises Creek Thence down the straight fork excluding Isaac Everett to Cruises Creek Thence down Cruises Creek to David Fisks Thence with the line of No. 15 to the line of No. 14 Thence with the line of No 14 to the beginning.

District No. 18 Will extend from the Boone County line near Orrin Percivals new house Thence by the direction of the ridge road to Covington excluding all the setters* on the road to Moses Rouses leaving him out Thence the nearest route to the Harvey line Thence with the line of No 12 to the Boone line Thence with the Boone line to the Beginning.

District No. 19 Will extend from Garretsons* on the Boone line to the turnpike road Thence with the line so as to include P.* Yelton and Jms.* Atkinson Thence Eastwardly on the line of A. Webster Wm. Ackman and B.P. Menefee to Kinkaids fork of Cruises Creek Thence down said Creek to the Stone Lick branch Thence up said branch and the nearest course to the Boone line near Orrin Percivals new house Thence with the Boone line to the Beginning -

District No 20. Will extend from J. Atkinsons with the Boone County line to James Cloyds including him thence with the Falmouth road and including L. Carlisle and B. Mann to the line of No. 16 Thence with the line of No. 16 to the mouth of Sayers fork on Cruises Creek Thence up said Creek to the line of No 19 Thence with the line of No. 19 to the beginning

District No 21 Will extend with the Boone line from near J. Cloyds to the Grant County line Thence with said line to the line of No 16 Thence with the line of No 16 to the line of No 20 Thence with the line of No. 20. to the beginning

District No 22 Will extend from I. Riggs Junr, including him to Fowlers fork Thence down said fork to the Burlington road including Jms.* Reagan Thence with the Burlington road to the Georgetown road so as to exclude H Perry Thence with the Georgetown road so as to include E Williams and M Rouse; Thence from Rouses on a straight line so as to include A Bird and N Stephens to Jms* H Armstrong including him Thence to the three forks of Bowman's Creek Thence with the Falmouth road to Z Riggs Senr. Exculding him and thence to the beginning.

District No. 23 Will extend from the Boone County line near Orrin Percivals new house at the point where the line crosses the ridge road Thence by the nearest course to the Stone lick branch of Cruises Creek Thence with that branch and the main Creek to the mouth of the Straight fork of said Creek Thence up the Straight fork including Isaac Everett to A Birds field Thence to James Ervines leaving him in District No 22 to the ridge road with the course of the ridge road including all the setters* on both sides of the road to the beginning.

District No. 24 Will extend from Cains Mill on the Bullock pen fork of Banklick Creek including him Thence up said Bullock pen fork so as to include Mrs. Lucy Huffman and Mrs. McGlasson to the County line Thence with the Boone line to the line of Wm. M. Respej* leaving him out Thence with his line and and (sic) the lines of Benjamin Stephens Senr. Leonard Stephens Edmond Stephens and Stephen Rice leaving them out to Banklick Creek Thence down Banklick Creek to the mouth of Bullock pen fork Thence up the same so as to include Isaac Bloom to the beginning.
