Benjamin and Julia Becker

B BECKER, city treasurer of Covington, Kenton Co, was born in Germany, September 8, 1832 and is a son of Joseph and Elizabeth Becker, natives of Germany. B Becker was educated in the common schools and at the age of twenty-two engaged in the manufacturing of cigars in Covington. His sales made principally in that city amounted to $15,000 or $20,000 a year. In 1882 he was elected city treasurer and is now serving his third term.
He has aslo engaged in the real estate business in Covington and Kenton County. In 1858 he married Julia Hanhauser of Covington and they now have seven children, viz: Lizzie, Katie, Julia, Emma, Joseph, Robert and Elmer. Mr. Becker was president of the Orphans' Society and is director in the City National Bank. He is a member of the Catholic Church.
